Elizabeth Dorbad is a sculptor and installation artist living in California. Affiliated with the Julie Baker Gallery, Dorbad exhibits nationally and internationally. She has served as an artist in residence at Artline in Berlin, Germany and in 2007, exhibited in Idas y Vueltas/ Back and Forth, Plastica Organica/Organic Plastic which included 15 Mexican artists along with 15 artists from the U.S. and was sponsored by the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. In 2008, she was an artist and curator for the exhibition, “Are You Building an Ark?” which featured the sculpture, painting, assemblage, film and video works of 8 California artists. She was the recent recipient of Art Interview Magazine’s Gold Medal Prize and will be participating in its 2009 international exhibition in Berlin. She is currently working on a series of large pieces combining junk, gold, bronze, film and sound. |
